March 4, 2015- Let’s Get Cooking!
-Recap of February 25th’s meeting see below line.
-Sustainable Foods Center to Come Speak.
We have the all clear to proceed with having the Sustainable Food Center come speak with WP Engine as an after Town Hall FFN. Will be updating with Suzie and Hans on this.
-Legal Update
We got the all clear from Doug on the Culinary Cookbook and he will be working with us on getting this off the ground. On that note we will need to vote on a charity and see if there is a way they can setup a portal for us to link to so that funds are directly handled by the charity and not us.
Stove/Oven/fire demos will need to be offsite, BP and I are working on checking with his apartments so we can host them there or rent if needed.
– Review of website, ensure everyone registers.
– Review of Pinterest account
I have emailed out login information if you do not have this let me know.
– Library Growth
Give me your BOOOOOOOKS! Ok thanks! But seriously get me your list of rent out books please.
– Culinary Techniques and Safety
Before anyone can participate in Demos they must first watch or come to the Culinary Techniques and Safety Classes. This will cover proper knife, food, and disposal of food handing along with basic first aide.
– Meetings will recommence in April allowing time for final Logistics and planning to be completed.
-Demos
These will happen biweekly after Culinary Techniques and Safety Classes.
February 25, 2015 Meeting- Shrimp Cocktail!
Topics we touched on:
-What do you want to cook/bake?
Some suggestions were mousse cakes, doing foods for events but would be best to do a group sit in with some cooking and baking books and let us pick from there.
-How often to run demos and meetings?
We decided twice a month and weekly meetings
-When is best for demos?
Wednesday may end up being best since it is in the middle of the week.
-WP Engine Cook Book proceeds to charity
Being a member in the culinary club get you an automatic spot in the book
-Live Demos with off campus options
As long as we do our cooking demos after 5 and clean up we will be ok to cook with my camper stove/oven. For larger demos like competitions or cook offs/bake offs Brandon said we could use his apts Kitchen.
-Culinary Club Site (What we want to see on it)
-Culinary Library
-Recipe catalog
-Your Creations Gallery
The Menu needs a colored bar behind it so it is easier to see.
-Cook offs?
Brandon’s apt or rent out the SFC kitchen.
-Bake Sale for charities?
Great idea will discuss further in future meetings.
-Composting how to class and where to implement.
Can have the SFC come talk with us on this.

Will be compiling a basics 101 class for users to take to proceed with Demos.
